Pre-Engineering Program at HSA El Paso

Harmony Science Academy El Paso is proud to offer a comprehensive pre-engineering program for middle and high school students in 2007-2008 school years.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a national non-profit organization established to help schools give students the knowledge they need to excel in high-tech-fields. PLTW’s instruction, generally one-third theory and two-thirds application, gives students meaningful, hands-on experience in problem-solving, teamwork, and project-based learning.

PLTW is the only pre-engineering/engineering technology of its kind in the nation. It is presently offered in over 900 schools in 42 states and the District of Columbia and is affiliated with such groups as NASA, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, American Society of Electrical Engineers, American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and others.

For more information about PLTW Program, please go to www.pltw.org.

HSA Houston at US News

Harmony Science Academy was praised in a news article released November 30, 2007 by U.S. News and World Report. The list names 1,600 of the nation’s 18,000 high schools. The article recognized specific schools based on factors such as:

Standardized Test Scores
Performance of Disadvantaged Students
Number of seniors taking and passing college level Advanced Placement Exams.

Normally, this magazine ranks colleges. This is the first time they have ranked high schools and we are honored to be among them.

I-SWEEEP!

We are living beyond the means of our planetary home. Unless we better our ways today, and develop new methods, new models and new technologies for development, we or our offspring will face a grim and perhaps catastrophic future.

What needed today is a concerted effort by everyone to realize the enormity of the problems our world will yet face unless we start adopting strong principles of a sustainable development.

Harmony Schools are the proud organizer of the I-SWEEEP, International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering & Environment) Project Olympiad. Furthermore, Harmony Science Academy – El Paso is taking the best projects from its Second School wide Science Fair to this fantastic event in Houston in between May 2 - 4, 2008.
